Mines

Reclamation

Reclamation includes reclaiming previously mined land back to a usable state. This process includes earthmoving, grading, seeding, mulching straw, and ditching.

Stripping

Stripping involves the removal of topsoil, subsoil, shale, and bedrock in order to extract coal. Heavy equipment such as dozers, trackhoes, and articulated trucks are used to remove overburden and access coal for extraction.

Extraction

Extraction is the process of removing coal from the earth after stripping is complete. This process consists of removing the coal using a wheel loader and loading coal into trucks to be processed using crushers and wash plants.
